Abstract: This article is the revised and expanded version of a conferencepaper presented at the 9th International Conference on DifferentialGeometry and its Applications, Prague, Czech Republic, August30th – September 3rd, 2004. The following is a summary of recent results of the author in collaboration with K. Wysocki, concerning topological classification of 'J'–holomorphic curves, asymptotic to a given periodic orbit within a closed three–dimensional contact manifold.
