|Title:||Liyuan huapu [Theatres and flower-guides]: Qing zhongwanqi Beijing nanfeng shengxing xia de liuxing duwu. [A popular literature at the height of mid- and late-Qing Beijing homoerotic fashion]||Contributor(s):||Wu, Cuncun (author)||Publication Date:||2007||Handle Link:||https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/2477||Abstract:||This paper analyses the 'flower guide' genre of theatre literature popular in late Qing dynasty Beijing (c. 1790-1911). The defining features of the genre and its sub-genres are identified, as well as the development of the genre over time. In discussing the genre’s evolution, an argument is developed linking the genre to literati fashion and new forms of public culture that accompanied the development of Beijing opera.||Publication Type:||Conference Publication||Conference Name:||Zhongguo xing wenhua guoji yantaohui [International Conference on Chinese Sexual Culture], Beijing, China, 16-18 June 2007||Source of Publication:||Sexuality Research in China: Proceedings of the International Conference on Chinese Sexual Culture [Zhongguo xing wenhua guoji yantaohui]||Publisher:||Wanyou Press||Place of Publication:||Gaoxiong, China||Field of Research (FOR):||200517 Literature in Chinese||Peer Reviewed:||Yes||Other Links:||http://www.sexstudy.org/article.php?id=4063
